WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
ThriftyHipster.com was started by a couple of local Minneapolis people who loved finding great happy hours. We started with the slogan, “Know before you go.” And it’s been our mission to make sure you always know about good, accurate happy hours.
WHAT ARE YOUR BUSINESS PRACTICES?
ThriftyHipster.com is a local website that believes in supporting the local community.

WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP?
Please tell your friends! Share the love! Tell bars you found them on our site! Come party with us! If you own a blog, write about us and link us. Anything that helps build the community is a plus.

DO I HAVE TO SIGN IN WITH FACEBOOK TO USE THE SITE?
No.
Everything you could do on the last site is completely the same as the new site. Find happy hours and drink specials when you want in any local location. The ONLY exception is with writing bar or happy hour reviews; these require you to sign in.
I WANT TO SIGN IN, CAN I KEEP MY WHEREABOUTS PRIVATE?
We NEVER display information to other people that you don’t want it displayed to. The friend search feature is ONLY for friends and ONLY for events and check-ins that you list publicly. We sort the information differently to make it searchable, but no one will ever be able to see anything they wouldn’t see on Foursquare or Facebook. In fact, much less.
HOW DO YOU KEEP THE SITE ACCURATE?
We try our best! ThriftyHipster.com updates happy hours and drink specials daily. We have a full-time staff to call and call and call… We also have local writers for events, concerts, and other cool stuff going on.
But we also rely on you! That is why, if you accurately flag a special that is out of date, not only will we call and update it the next day, but we’ll throw your name in a hat to win a $100 Gift Card. So please, if you’re out and see anything off, let us know!

DO YOU GUYS HAVE A MOBILE APP?
Yes! Look in the Android and ITunes stores for Thrifty Hipster. If you don’t have one of those, don’t worry, just go to http://thriftyhipster.com and you’ll be routed to our mobile formatted site. It’s not as cool, but it’s great for finding a happy hour on the go.
SOME STUFF LOOKS WONKY… AND SOME BARS AREN’T LISTED
Make sure you have filters that aren’t preventing you from finding a bar.
Also, our website works best in Firefox, Safari, and Chrome. There are known issues with Internet Explorer. (hopefully you’ll skip this question, we’re working non-stop!)

Thriftyhipster.com is currently in BETA for the local market of the Twin Cities and test market of Orange County. BETA means that we are testing our software, fixing bugs, optimizing search speed, and making it more accessible for all users on a multitude of platforms. Therefore, we make no gaurantee of data accuracy, access, or server uptime. The information displayed on ThriftyHipster.com is public information that can be accessed by a simple google search or by calling any of the bars listed on the site.

How can you stop receiving email from us?
We respect your time and attention by controlling the frequency of our mailings. You have every right to stop receiving email anytime you choose and to only receive relevant and wanted email. We collect and use your email address in order to send you the newsletters and special promotions you have requested. How do we use information collected from Thrifty Hipster members?
We will never sell or give away individual personal information to anyone without your advance permission or unless ordered by a court of law or as requested by government or law enforcement agencies. We will also cooperate with law enforcement agencies in identifying those who use our services to further illegal activity. Otherwise the information submitted to us is only available to employees managing this information for purposes of sending you emails based on your request for information and to contracted service providers for purposes of providing services relating to our communications with you.
When you join Thrifty Hipster merchant email lists, your preferences and other general information you have voluntarily provided to us may or may not be shared with the sponsor and added to the member information for their email list. If you join one or more Thrifty Hipster merchant email lists, your information may also be owned separately by the merchants whose email lists you joined. Occasionally, these merchants may choose to use the information you provided to send you information or promotions outside of Thrifty Hipster’s email publications. Thrifty Hipster asks participating merchants to adhere to these privacy guidelines, as documented in this Privacy Policy, however Thrifty Hipster assumes no responsibility for communications sent directly from merchants or from third parties which the merchant may have engaged. Thrifty Hipster will never give, trade, sell or rent any personally identifiable information without your prior consent but we do not have direct control of the actions taken by any merchant which with you may have shared your personal information.
Who has access to the information provided by members?
We do not sell or give your personal information to others or share it with others, other than the merchants sponsoring the email lists you join, and service vendors who sometimes assist us and who are also subject to a confidentiality agreement, as described in this Policy Statement. If the ownership of a merchant sponsoring an email list changes due to the sale of some or all of the assets of the merchant or the controlling stock or other ownership interest, the new owner may have the same rights of access and ownership of your personal information as the previous owner. Similarly, if a purchaser acquires some or all of our assets or stock, the purchaser will succeed to our rights with respect to your personal information. We may, on occasion, automatically track certain information, including banners or other hyper-links clicked on and whether members read the email messages from their email lists. This information is provided to the respective merchant sponsoring the email list and may include personally identifiable information.
What about links to other sites and ads?
Emails you receive from us may contain advertisements and links to other web sites (“Third Party Materials”). We are not responsible for the privacy policies or content of these Third Party Materials. This Privacy Policy only addresses the use and disclosure of information we collect from you in connection with Thrifty Hipster. The privacy policy posted on our other web sites differs from this Privacy Policy. Merchants who sponsor an email list we support may maintain their own web site and publish their own privacy policy.
