Facebook Live

FACEBOOK LIVE DRIVES BAR CUSTOMERS.

It’s time to start using Facebook’s latest features to help bring consumers into your seats! One of my favorite features, Facebook live, is being used by bars/restaurants to give patrons front row seats to see what is happening in their venue. Facebook live is a feature that offers live-streaming video capabilities to users through their mobile phones. It is the ultimate “show, don’t tell” feature that shows real-time footage of what is happening in your bar/restaurant.

WHY DO YOU STAND OUT?

Take advantage now. Because Facebook is currently trying to drive use of this feature up, they are showing a greater preference in your news feed.  So, in contrast to a traditional post (and Facebook limiting fans that can see it without paying), you’ll get to reach more people, for free.

BEST USE IDEAS FOR YOUR BAR

With Facebook Live, a bar/restaurant can use it for cooking/drink demonstrations, virtual tours of the bar/restaurant, meet the staff, and live stream of events and other promotions.  Simply use it to show how fun and inviting your bar/restaurant is.

Here are some ideas bars have used to increase followers and ultimately, customers:

  • Stream a chef making one of his signature bites.
  • Your best bartender showing how to mix the perfect Old Fashioned?
  • Live stream your St. Patrick’s Day celebration or 4th of July bash.
  • Pan the patrons having a great time socializing and enjoying the atmosphere at your place?

How to use Facebook Live (from your mobile)

  1. Log into the Facebook for iOS app or the Facebook for Android app.
  2. Tap from your News Feed or Timeline.
  3. Tap Screen (Live Tab in upper left)
  4. Write an optional description for your broadcast.
  5. Tap Go Live to begin your broadcast.

Unless a Facebook user changes their settings, they will receive a notification that a business or a friend is streaming live. Don’t you want to generate excitement which will attract potential customers?

Don’t be discouraged if you’ve got low attendance for you “LIVE” video.  Facebook will save all your live streams to your page.
